LET THE CHASTISEMENT COMMENCE!!

Fellow Novel Spirits, as we all know, it is brutally cold, snowy, icy, bone-chilling WINTER outside. And I for one, am ready for warm weather. Oh wait, acutally I was wrong when I said, "As we all know" because unfortunately, we all DON'T know. There are certain treacherous Novel Spirits who betrayed the rest of us for the warm, sunny paradise known as Ha wee wee. (There was my movie reference. In HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, Dracula's daughter Mavis incorrectly pronounces Hawaii "Ha wee wee". That's right Spirits, our very own JB and Cat are currently sunning and funning in HAWAII!!!! I am turning my nose up in the air currently.

And like a true Novel Spirit, I am throwing them under the proverbial bus of chastisement, just as it cruises by at a high rate of speed, and powered by a V-8 internal combustion engine that runs purely on BETRAYAL!!!!!

Let's do a little side by side comparison of what the two of us are experiencing right now. It will be a fun game to see if you all can figure out which pictures came from JB and Cat, and which comes from us:

Not sure if you'll be able to identify which one is us or not. But anyway, I hope JB and Cat are having a great time in paradise. With all the money the squirreled away in the super top secret hidden safe, maybe we can all take a field trip to Hawaii!!! I'm sure there are books that relate to Hawaii that we can tie it into. It's settled then.

BTW, I have started UNBROKEN, and so far it is extremely exciting. It's hard to stop once I've started. See you all in a few weeks!

Getting a little cabin fever here at the lodge. Thought the Spririts might enjoy pictures of the Indianapolis Public Library. I took these when we were there in December.

THE WEATHER IS HERE...

Hello Novel Spirits. Sorry to bring bad news but it looks like the best option is to reschedule our book club meeting. I've been in touch with some of the Spirits and it seems like road conditions aren't good anywhere. 

So the question is when to have it now? Next weekend ok?

I know Cat and JB will be on another adventure so I don't think they can make it regardless.

NOVEL SPIRITS 4 LIFE!!!

Hey Novel Spirits, let it never be said that I, Baron von Blog Maintenance, am scared to commit. Let it never be said that I am not completely committed to the Novel Spirits!! As a matter of fact, I'm getting a Novel Spirits tattoo tonight..... as long as the roads are clear anyway. Allow me to show you what I'm talking about....

The mansion will have available parking in case we do have book club!!! Maybe. It was probably all for not since there is supposed to be another (worse) wave of snow, sleet and ice coming tonight and tomorrow. But just like the Boy Scouts say, "Be Prepared".  Actually, as I'm sitting here looking at the pictures, it doesn't look like I did a very good job. Sad. It looked better but it was snowing and sleeting as I was shoveling so I feel bamboozled. 

You all remember that Dos Equis commercial with the most interesting man in the world? You know how he says (in that super suave foreign accent) "I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis"? Well I have another version designed for myself today: "I don't always shovel the snow off the driveway, or clean the mansion, or do any type of actual work really, but when I do, I prefer to do it for book club." What do you think? Can that become a commercial? Probably not. 

But anyway, so the weather forecast is still predicting lots of some sort of frozen or half frozen precipitation, so its still uncertain how bad the roads will be for Sunday. But if there is book club, there will be parking!!!! 

It's also possible that after all this shoveling that I'll be stuck immobile in the recliner, unable to move for the entire book club. But I'm sure someone will keep my wine glass filled.

WEATHER ALERT

Howdy Novel Spirits, I'm sorry for the delay between posts. I am once again in study mode with boring finance stuff but "excuses satisfy only those who make them" I know.

Won't waste too much time, but it looks like there might be some pretty bad weather this weekend with snow and/or ice possible for all of us.

So I think we can leave the meeting as tentative for now just in case of bad conditions. If we need to reschedule we can do that. We can wait until closer to Sunday but if need be we'll reschedule I guess. The Baron and Archimedes Mansion needs a few upgrades I guess. We'll work on a two-square mile heated force field to keep our area perfectly controlled at a steady 81 degrees and sunny, year round.

But until then, let's monitor the weather just in case
